Keep Calm and Snap On

I was assisting David Nightingale (www.chromasia.com) in workshops that he was running during the GPP2014 week. One of these is called "Shoot the Street".

The objective was to expose to participants to a range of key skills that would enable them to produce visually compelling street images. These skills include: how to get the most from your camera in often difficult and challenging light, including working with exposure, depth-of-field, ISO, and so on; how to shoot and engage with the people you meet and how to produce creative and visually compelling images.

A group of around 15 or so participants visited the fish market and local textile souk (market).

These are some of the images I shot in chronological order.

What did I learn? Not to rush it. I have a tendency to go off half cocked in my excitement (lol). David was kind enough to coach me through the process and once I calmed down a bit and became a bit more deliberative, I got the images above. A couple of times I thought I wasn't sure if I should take the shot and I did anyway. Thank God. This image below is one of my favorites and it would have never happened if I had not remembered "If you are not sure of the shot, take it anyway"

So now the plan? Don't rush it. Don't rush it. Don't rush it.
